Dust and Mud - Photography by Dana Thomas

Bio

Born and raised in Southern California when orchards were giving way to subdivisions, I embraced the outside world as a firefighter, farmer, landscaper and finally as a fruit tramp, chasing avocados around the world.  In pursuit of this illusive fruit, I  got to know Chile, Mexico, Peru and spent time in New Zealand, Colombia, Europe, Asia and the Mid-East. Travelling allowed me to meet and get to know interesting people, see beautiful landscapes and appreciate diverse cultures. Despite these life changing exposures to different countries and cultures, I remain firmly rooted in mountains, deserts, canyons and rivers of the American west.

Living in the Rocky Mountains wiith Lindsey, my wife of  45 years, I spend my time exploring the western United States, taking pictures, writing, hiking and building guitars.
