Born and raised in Southern California when orchards were giving way to subdivisions, I embraced the outside world as a firefighter, farmer, landscaper and finally as a fruit tramp. The pursuit of avocados took me to Chile, Mexico, Peru, New Zealand, Colombia, Europe, Asia and the Mid-East. Travelling allowed me to get to know interesting people, see beautiful landscapes and appreciate diverse cultures. Despite these life changing exposures, I remain firmly rooted in mountains, deserts, canyons and rivers of the American west.
Living in the Rocky Mountains wiith Lindsey, my wife of 47 years, I spend my time exploring the Western United States, taking pictures, writing, hiking and building guitars.
